The Department of Local Government Studies is the only department in the nation to offer a degree course in local governments. As the first of its kind, our program was established for those who hope to become local government members and strengthen their practical capabilities and theoretical knowledge. We provide a differentiated curriculum that focuses on local governments, including their administration and policies. Our teaching staff is highly experienced in both practice and theory, and they offer case-driven lectures that allow students to experience the real workings of government. While building problem-solving skills, students will also gain a systematic understanding of laws, policies, various interest groups and policy environments. In this way, we are cultivating talents in the public sector who will lead the way in the era of localization. In the local elections held on June 13th, 2018, 26 students and alumni were elected.
